Moderators have various ways of ensuring that the game rules are adhered to and a good in-game atmosphere is maintained:
- Mute: when flooding (insistent repetition of messages in game) or messages which contravene the Terms and Conditions of Use become unmanageable, moderators can prevent players from sending messages. The mute function can be applied to a map or a channel for a specific length of time and it is there as a last resort when it becomes impossible to moderate each player individually.
- The Island and Prison: in some cases, a moderator may need to isolate a player from the rest of the community while an issue is resolved in-game. Players can be teleported into the DOFUS prison. Here, players are given some time to reflect on their behaviour!
- Kick: kicking disconnects the player in question. Moderators can make use of it to unblock a player if they are affected by a bug.
- Temporary suspension: temporary suspension can be used by a moderator to exclude a player and prevent them from interrupting an event or other players’ enjoyment of the game. This function lasts a maximum of 24 hours.
