For those most in need of protection… Shield activated!
Ankama has identified a number of DOFUS accounts whose security settings have been deemed insufficient. In order to prevent possible attacks, these accounts are now protected by the new DOFUS account security system. Ankama Shield has been activated on certain accounts for their own security.

Information about the recent disconnections, lag, and ...
2011-04-08 12:24After the disturbances at our host last weekend, we first suspected that these problems were linked to a past disturbance within their architecture – as we communicated to you earlier – but our suspicions were diverted to another hypothesis, which we have recently confirmed.
The Ankama servers have been the target of DDoS attacks, which have been taking place regularly since last Saturday. We are not able to say who is behind these attacks, but we have begun deploying new protective measures across our infrastructure to prevent future attacks.
These protective measures are being tested on some of our servers, but it is not impossible that we will undertake a comprehensive maintenance session to extend these protections to our entire infrastructure in the immediate future.
We are informing all of you, not to excuse the inconvenience you have suffered because of these attacks, but to help you better understand the situation and the time that it may take for normal services to be restored.
We also want to reassure those who have expressed worry about the capacity of our host; DOFUS is hosted by the most powerful provider in Europe that is capable of supporting server infrastructures as large as ours. Apart from the events of recent weeks (intentional attacks aimed at overloading our services by any means), we are very far from naturally reaching the limits of the traffic that our architecture can accommodate. Under normal circumstances, our servers are ready and able to withstand far more players than those who already visit us daily.
Please know that we are exploring all possible solutions to solve these connection problems with due haste.
Thank you again for your patience and your support.
