    Ankama has identified a number of DOFUS accounts whose security settings have been deemed insufficient. In order to prevent possible attacks, these accounts are now protected by the new DOFUS account security system. Ankama Shield has been activated on certain accounts for their own security.

Update: For those with reset passwords

  The following news goes out to anyone who has had their password reset by Ankama due to the incident of July 29th, 2011. More specifically, it is for those who have recovered access to their account and do not need further help from support to access their account.

These players will momentarily be able to further protect their accounts by changing their secret answer. This secret answer can be changed in the Account Management section of our website. Please make sure that this secret answer is impossible to guess, even by close relations such as friends and family. This new secret answer will allow these players to change their password if the new password set by Ankama is too complext to remember.

 

We would like to also take this opportunity to make some important clarifications:


If you have had your password reset by Ankama and have not yet received a new password, please request a new password via our automatic system, or, if you no longer have access to the email address saved to your account, please contact support.


The Ankama support team has taken on some new staff to help in this time of crisis and in general, response time should start to get shorter next week. However, each case requires special attention, and this takes time to ensure that accounts are not given to the incorrect people. Thank you for your continued patience in this difficult time.


 Compensation for the inconvenience caused by this intrusion will be given, and we will try to compensate all injured parties fairly and equally. But this compensation will not be released until the situation returns to normal, meaning "when we have restored access to all of our players."


A new tool to strengthen the security of your account is being tested during this time, and will soon be ready for you to use. Obviously, we will inform you the moment that it's ready.


We had originally scheduled a special subscription gift offer to take place this week, but in light of the number of players who are still without access to their accounts, we have decided to delay this offer until next week. Look for more information soon.
