Error message: Incorrect account name and / or password

In various situations, you may get an error message telling you that your account name (login) and/or password are incorrect even though they are!

Below you will find some different cases:

The Ankama authenticator is activated

If you installed the authenticator and try to log into a game via the Ankama Launcher without first authorizing the connection in your mobile application, you will receive a message saying your password is incorrect.

This is an error message that we cannot unfortunately fix at the moment.

If this is the case, please authorize the login via the Authenticator mobile application and try to log in again.

Your IP address is unstable

If you receive the message “Incorrect account name or password”, but these are correct, then the IP address for your WiFi or 4G connection may have changed between launch and connecting to the Ankama Launcher (Proxy, VPN).

If this is the case, the solution is to open 2 instances of the game (CTRL +2) and log in to the game manually.

The account you created is not finalized

The email address linked to the newly created Ankama account may not have been confirmed. We encourage you to confirm it in the confirmation email that should have been sent to you at the email address you entered in the new account form.

DOFUS Touch – servers unavailable

If you receive the message “Incorrect account name or password”, but these are correct, and the previous instances are not the case, then the servers are most likely temporarily unavailable.

We encourage you to try connecting again later.

DOFUS Retro – Password too long

If you receive an error message saying your password is not correct when it actually is, and the previous instances are not the case, then your password is most likely too long.

In fact, passwords on DOFUS Retro servers are limited to 32 characters.

If your password contains more than 32 characters, we encourage your to reset it via this link or via Account Management.
